Rachel Welch is a ceramic and fiber artist based in Lisbon, Portugal. She creates ceramic pieces using stoneware and her own ceramic glazes, and knits pieces in all shapes, sizes and materials.
Rachel specializes in pieces designed for everyday use, adding beauty and comfort to quotidian routines. She believes in finding beauty in imperfection and embracing the “happy accidents” that are part of the creative process.

Set of four stoneware bowls with vertical stripes cut into the sides. Glazed in a satin-finish off-white. Slight grit in the clay, slight size variations and slight glaze variations add to their beauty and one-of-a-kind nature. Dishwasher safe.
First came the milk pitcher, then the teapot, cups, sugar bowl and, finally, the mini pitcher. The grey tea set is made in a minimalist style, with straight edges, angled bottoms, and flat lids with ridges for easy handling. The glossy grey glaze reflects light beautifully. Available as a set, or individually.
Six large stoneware bowls, ideally sized for a meal or serving sides. Brushed with a black clay engobe with a carved iris blossom sgrafitto detail. Finished with a matte transparent glaze and wine-colored highlights. Slight size and finishing irregularities due to their hand-made nature and variations in clay, engobe and glazes. Also available in sets of two.

The cup that started it all. A white stoneware espresso cup with a semi-glossy satin glaze and gentle vertical stripes around the sides.
Similar to our Stripe Bowls, but made in red stoneware for a unique clay-and-glaze combination. Two tall mugs with a light pink, satin-finished glaze. Slight height differences due to their handmade nature and effects of drying in the kiln. Dishwasher safe.

Star-shaped quilted coasters. Cotton fabric. Wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Custom colors available upon request.
A navy blue knitted ribbon scarf, made with Portuguese wool. Approximately 1 meter long and 10 cm wide. Handwash in cold water and lay flat to dry.
Placemats made from heavy cotton fabric printed with green, blue, brown and purple dinosaurs. Set of 4, machine washable on delicate cycle. Lay flat to dry.
